Adventure is effort worth making, at the right level.

The question is not whether you can handle it. It is what level of effort makes sense for you and for those going with you.

Talk to Nomade

Too little adventure disappoints. Too much spoils it.

An adventure that is too light feels like a sightseeing outing. One that is too heavy turns the trip into suffering.

Our job is to find the point where effort becomes part of the pleasure, and to tell you frankly where it stops being so.

Adventure does not do without preparation. And we will not sell it as if it did.

What you really want

It is almost never just adrenaline. It is feeling that you went somewhere that asked something of you, and coming back with that.

For some, it is a landscape you only reach with effort. For others, it is living something different from everyday life, with enough conditions to enjoy it.

What level of effort makes sense for you?

No level is better than another. What matters is which one fits you and those going with you.

  1. Light

Little effort and plenty of scenery. You can enjoy it without special preparation.

  2. Active

Days with real effort, alternating with rest. It calls for some physical preparation.

  3. Demanding

Continuous effort and difficult conditions. It calls for prior preparation and honesty about your level.

The right level is the one that fits your preparation, not your pride.

Who it makes sense for

  • Those who want to go beyond sightseeing and accept some effort.
  • Those who want to reach landscapes and places that ask a little of them.
  • Groups and families who want a challenge that suits everyone.
  • Those who want to combine adventure with nature or culture.

Who it may not be for

  • Anyone who wants only comfort and tolerates no discomfort at all.
  • Anyone who thinks an intense adventure requires no physical conditioning.
  • Anyone who wants to prove they can handle more than their preparation allows.

What changes the trip most

The level of effort
It defines everything else. It has to be considered honestly, and stated frankly.
The preparation
Tell us honestly how your fitness is. The activity is chosen from that.
Who leads
Specialized local operators and guides make a difference. When the activity calls for it, we bring in someone who knows the place better than we do.
The season
Weather changes the effort, the conditions, and what is available.
The access
Getting to the place can take time and more than one mode of transport. That goes into the design from the start.
The insurance
Check that the policy covers the activity and read the exclusions. We do not suggest coverage amounts.
Who travels with you
The group moves at the pace of the slowest. The design takes that into account.

Adventure without romanticizing

Adventure carries real risk and real discomfort. We do not sell it as if it were sightseeing, and we do not hide what is hard.

We would rather say “this is not the right activity for you” than sell an experience that does not match your preparation.

Illustrative example

What a trip like this could look like

The trip could alternate days of effort with rest days, and put the most demanding activity in the middle, when the body has adapted but is not yet tired.

A specialized operator would lead the main stretch. The other days would be for looking, eating, and recovering.

Where people go wrong

  • Choosing from a video or a photo, without looking at the real level of effort of the activity.
  • Overestimating your own preparation.
  • Stacking intense activities back to back, with no rest days.
  • Leaving insurance for later, without checking that it covers the activity.

How many days

The duration is planned around your available time and what you want to experience.

We adjust the number of experiences and transfers to the available time, whether the trip is short or long.

When to go

There is no single season for adventure. It depends on the place, the activity, and the level of effort.

Weather changes the effort and the conditions. We look at the season for your dates, and tell you frankly whether it suits what you want to do.

Questions that always come up

Do I need to be fit?

It depends on the level. We tell you frankly what preparation each experience asks for.

Is it dangerous?

Adventure carries risks. We work with specialized local operators and guides, tell you frankly what the activity involves, and guide you on insurance.

Can the family come along?

It can work, as long as the level of effort suits everyone.

Can I do adventure travel without experience?

Yes, at light levels. We tell you which one makes sense for you.

Where do you plan these trips?

In the United States, Europe, and Brazil, among other destinations. We look for the place that matches your level.

Can I go for just a few days?

The duration is planned around your available time and what you want to experience.

What level of adventure suits you?

Tell us how your preparation is, what you want to live, who is coming, how many days you have, and when. We design the rest together.
